Privacy Policy - Explore Earth - Live Map & Cam
Effective date: October 20, 2026
Explore Earth (“we,” “us,” or “the App”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, stored, and shared when you use Explore Earth and its related features.
By using Explore Earth, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
The App provides global camera viewing, satellite maps, 3D Earth views, street view, traffic information, GPS routes, compass tools, travel tracking, photo capture, and related location features.
1. Information We Process
The information processed depends on the features you use, the permissions you grant, your device settings, and the third-party services supporting a feature.
Location information
When you allow location access, Explore Earth may use your precise or approximate location to show your position on a map, provide GPS routes and location context, support compass and coordinate features, record a travel track you start, and add location details to a photo when you choose that feature.
Location access is optional and is used while you use a location-related feature. Explore Earth does not use location for background tracking. You can manage or revoke location permission in your device settings. If you disable it, location-based features may be limited or unavailable.
When a map, route, traffic, or place feature is provided by a third party, the provider may receive the location or location query needed to return your requested result. Please see Section 3.
Camera and photo library
If you use photo features, the App may request access to your camera or to photos you select. This access may be used to capture travel photos, save photos to your device, or add optional location, time, direction, or trip details when available and permitted by your settings.
We access the camera or selected photos only when you choose a related feature and grant the relevant permission. Photos and associated details are stored on your device and are not uploaded to Explore Earth accounts or servers. We do not sell your personal photos. You can manage camera and photo permissions in device settings and remove photos using the controls available on your device.
Motion, orientation, and compass sensors
The App may use device motion, orientation, or compass sensor readings to show direction, bearing, or heading and to support direction-based map features. Sensor readings can vary by device model and system settings. These readings are used to provide the feature and are not stored in an Explore Earth account or uploaded to Explore Earth servers.
Travel tracks, saved places, and App settings
When you start travel tracking or save a favorite place, the App processes the route, stops, place details, and related times needed for that feature. Travel tracks, saved places, trip history, notes, and App settings are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to Explore Earth accounts or servers.
Device, usage, and diagnostic information
The App and its service providers may automatically process technical or usage information, such as device model, operating system and App version, language or region settings, IP address, device or advertising identifiers where permitted, feature interactions, session information, performance data, crash logs, and error reports.
This information may be used to operate and secure the App, analyze crashes, improve performance and compatibility, understand feature usage, prevent fraud, and measure advertising where applicable. Advertising identifiers and usage data are used for advertising only as permitted by your device settings, your consent choices, and applicable law.
Information you provide
If you contact the developer through the support contact on the App Store product page, the developer may process information you provide, such as your email address and the content of your message, to respond to your request.

3. Third-Party Services and Content
Explore Earth may use third-party services for maps, satellite imagery, geographic data, routes, traffic information, street view, live camera or public webcam content, analytics, crash reporting, cloud infrastructure, and advertising. These providers may process information needed to provide their services, such as map usage, location or route requests, place searches, IP address, device information, diagnostic data, usage events, or advertising identifiers. Their processing is governed by their own privacy policies.
Live camera and public webcam content comes from third-party sources. Explore Earth does not operate or control the cameras. Camera availability, image or video quality, location, status, and content may change or be unavailable depending on the source and region.
Third-party content may be subject to separate licenses, terms, and privacy policies. We do not control third-party services and cannot guarantee their availability or the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or reliability of their content.
The App may display third-party advertisements. Advertising providers may process device or advertising identifiers, device information, IP address, approximate location where permitted, and ad views or interactions to deliver ads, measure performance, prevent fraud, or improve ad quality. You can manage available tracking and advertising preferences through your device settings and any consent choices presented in the App.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not sell your precise location, travel tracks, or personal photos. We may disclose information to comply with law or valid legal process, protect users or the App, investigate fraud or security issues, or complete a merger, acquisition, or transfer of the App, subject to applicable law.
4. Third-Party Content Accuracy and Safety
Map data, satellite imagery, public webcam content, street view, 3D Earth content, traffic information, geographic and place information, routes, compass results, and coordinates are supplied or supported in whole or in part by third parties. Their availability and accuracy may vary by region, provider, device, network, and local conditions.
Explore Earth is intended for general exploration, travel planning, and personal location reference. It is not intended for emergency navigation, safety-critical use, professional surveying, aviation or maritime navigation, law enforcement, or real-time satellite monitoring. Do not rely on the App as the only source for directions, traffic, location, or emergency information.
5. Data Storage, Retention, and Security
Travel tracks, trip history, saved places, notes, photos, photo details, sensor readings, and App settings are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded to Explore Earth accounts or servers. If you delete the App, locally stored records may be deleted and may not be restored after reinstalling. Device backups managed by Apple or another provider may retain copies under that provider’s settings and terms.
Technical diagnostics, usage information, advertising data, and support correspondence may be processed or retained by the relevant service provider or developer only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the App, troubleshoot issues, maintain security, measure advertising where applicable, respond to requests, and meet legal obligations. Third-party providers describe their own retention practices in their privacy policies.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed by the App and the developer. Information stored on your device is also subject to your device’s security settings. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure.
